Redesign of The Star Trek Compendium, an episode guide to all three seasons of Star Trek: The Original Series, published in the 1970's.
I was inspired by the books designed by William Morris for Kelmscott Press and the typography of Bruce Rogers. I chose to use woodcut illustrations and technical drawings to serve as the main imagery for the book. I was able to find scans of Star Trek books from the '70's and '80's with plans of the Enterprise and drawings of alien races from the series and other related content to tie the imagery into the Star Trek universe. The contrast between these two sources of imagery brings a playful feel to the book as do the pull-quotes emphasizing the fanboy tone of the writing itself.
